Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Towershift ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are creating an organisation account, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
2. Service description
Towershift is a web-based platform for managing volunteers at organisations. The Service includes volunteer scheduling, event management, communications, attendance tracking, and reporting tools.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when registering
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
- One person may hold accounts at multiple organisations
4. Organisation responsibilities
Organisation administrators are responsible for:
- Managing their membership approvals and role assignments
- Ensuring they have consent to store volunteer contact details
- Obtaining consent from emergency contacts whose details are stored on the platform
- Not using the platform to collect health, medical, or other sensitive information
- Using the communications features (SMS, email) appropriately and not for spam
- Maintaining accurate event and volunteer records
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Organisation subscriptions are billed monthly or annually
- SMS credits are purchased separately and are non-refundable
- You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to active subscribers
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) through the platform
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or organisations
- Upload malicious files or content
- Interfere with the proper operation of the Service
- Scrape or harvest data from the Service
7. Data and privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Organisation administrators act as data controllers for their volunteer data; we act as a data processor. See our Data Processing Agreement for details.
8. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of all data you enter into the Service. We retain ownership of the Service itself, including its design, code, and documentation. You may export your data at any time using the built-in export tools.
9. Availability, support, and warranty
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, we make no warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the Service. We will provide reasonable notice of planned maintenance. Support is provided via email.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
11. Law enforcement disclosure
We may disclose your information to law enforcement agencies or government authorities where required by law, court order, or subpoena, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Towershift, our users, or the public.
12. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time by contacting us
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable
- On termination, you may request an export of your data within 30 days
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify active users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Victoria, Australia.
